Here is exactly what happens when you read this site.

Privacy

This site has no accounts, signup, cookies, analytics scripts, advertising, or embedded third-party content. The pages are static, and the site does not build a profile of what you read. Like most web hosting, the server may retain standard access and security logs, such as the requested address, time, browser information, and network address, for operation and abuse prevention.

When the full text is published, this site will keep your place in your browser's own storage, which never leaves your device. Here is everything it will store. Until then, it stores nothing at all:

The last chapter you read and how far you were, so the contents page can offer to continue.

Your position in each chapter you have started.

When the full text is available, clearing this site’s browser data removes those preferences. Private browsing also works; the site simply will not remember your place after the private window closes.

Civil law

This site studies a biblical and historical question. It does not create a civil marriage, give legal advice, or tell anyone to break the law. In the United States, a person generally cannot enter a second civil marriage while a first civil marriage remains in force, and criminal or family-law consequences vary by jurisdiction.

If a real household, marriage license, immigration matter, inheritance, custody question, or criminal statute is involved, check the current law where you live and speak with a qualified lawyer. A Bible study is not a substitute for that advice.

The ethics charter: what this site will never do

These promises are public so you can hold us to them. If the site breaks one, write to read@biblicalmarriages.org. We will fix it or explain the decision publicly.

  1. I may let a story or question unfold before giving away the ending. I will not manufacture urgency, hide a commitment, use fake scarcity or countdowns, interrupt you when you leave, or shame you into clicking.

  2. There are no reader accounts, advertising trackers, or behavioral analytics. When the book reader is available, its text-size and reading-position settings will stay in your browser and can be cleared at any time.

  3. The complete book will be free without an email gate, so anyone can read the entire argument instead of a selected excerpt.

  4. Every excerpt from Unblinded is cited to its chapter and checked against the current manuscript. Outside sources are checked separately against the edition named on the page.

  5. The Questions page answers concerns about consent, abuse, self-interest, regulation, Genesis, Jesus, and Paul, with links to the longer discussion.

The text of Unblinded is © Robert F. Tilley Jr., all rights reserved, and is offered here to read freely once the full text is published. Quote it with attribution. An automated check confirms that every excerpt of Unblinded used on these pages matches the current book manuscript word for word before anything is published. That check is an internal consistency check and it says nothing about sources outside the book. Quotations from Scripture, manuscripts, historical documents and scholarship follow a separate editorial process. Pages identify sources you can open and mark records that still need collation against a standard edition. Human reviewer and date metadata are kept when a human review has actually occurred; an automated or AI review is never represented as independent human verification. Every material correction is published and dated on the corrections page. If a quotation ever differs from its source, that is a bug, and we would like to hear about it.
